INDIA182: Day 93 debrief. . .

The spiritual atmosphere was heavy heavy today!! My new found friend, Yen, who I met yesterday at the children’s ministry, and I met up in the morning, ate some good brunch at his house and headed out for a full day of worship and intercession to the 2 places I was recommended to be ‘high’ places.

Neither of the places were really geographically high because Kolkata itself is a swampland and very flat. Haha BUT either way they were both areas which had Hindu temples surrounding them. Yen and I decided to head to the Kali Ghat Temple first.

The area was packed with as many people as the eye can see; all preparing/ sacrificing/ asking for blessings for the festival coming up. These customs and rituals is really something venders can raise money on because of the incense and things you’d have to buy to sacrifice at the temple. As we walked around the area, we began prayer walking and asking Jesus to reveal something on His about this place.

2 significant things stuck out to me on this walk. Number one: is how thirsty this nation and people are squandering on a misconception that will leave them empty. I first noticed when I started getting physically thirsty and arrived at a building just opposite the Kali Ghat temple: the Mother Teresa ministry for the dying and destitute. A sign was written above the cross that said, “I thirst”.
And there was my second revelation: the divine conspiracy; how far away they push and brush Jesus and though He’s yet so close offering this living water that lasts and leaves them not thirsty!

Jesus Christ’s faithfulness is above words can ever describe. That in the chaos and destruction and need, He is hope, light, and life for all that choose Him; always ready & available for them to run to Him.

I was lead to a secluded place in the area so I wouldn’t lead to any judgement from the people because these words are not to the people but for the land and spiritual atmosphere and people that are yet to be awaken. At this time of fluster and madness for the festival, it would be unwise to get a gathering turn in to a riot.

Before heading to the second high place, I headed into the Kali Ghat temple itself, one of the oldest temples in India, to see the process of their worship and prayer to get a greater understanding of what Hinduism was all about. The temple was truly like the Old Testament in how they would worship God in the tabernacle. Of course, there would be different things like man made idols to worship and pray to and a sacred tree but it really reminded me of a life experience of the Old Testament tabernacle! I was really surprised to see the similarity and how they would know that, “. . .when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered though the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.”(HEB 9:11-12)

The second location Yen and I headed to was Berala Temple. The fortress and structure was really truly impressive. I could then see how easily lured these people would be with the beauty of the temple; that they would be lured with money or the image of money. I walked around this structure smiling to myself how much bigger God’s kingdom is; something money can never make. I prayed for these people that came weekly if not daily to these temples blindly following these idols.

During this last trip for the day, I must admit I was quite tired from the spiritual atmosphere. God’s grace is more sufficient though hallelujah!!

A good day with God’s victory at hand and closer for His kingdom to be revealed in India!! Nothing is impossible for You Jesus!! Nothing will stop You from the light You shine everyday since the beginning!!

Prayer requests:
Please pray for my strength that I will continue partnering with Jesus and focusing on Him!! May I continue choosing to follow Him and not be searching for anything lesser! May that be sealed on my heart!
May you please please have an intercession time for Kolkata if you have time, especially for these 2 high places: Kali Ghat Temple & Berala Temple.
Their eyes will be opened Lord! All glory to You!

Much love from India!!
