Sorry guys for the slow updates on the blog. Thank you so much for the prayers and support for the last couple days where mayhem and chaos was happening in the city of chennai.
The riots toward the US embassy were ceasing slowly though there were more threats and violence happening.
2 nights before i was scheduled to leave the base to Hyderabad, I felt a great urging to head out to the high point anyways on St. Thomas’ mount. I really felt God’s moving in heading up there to read out the passages He has given to read out along with worship and intercession.
The only difference would be that I alone would go up from Nathan being restricted to head out from the fear of injury towards his physical health from the riots.
I decided that day to ask again but for us to head out towards the afternoon and by taxi.
Surprisingly, the leaders of the base said yes! So we got to sneak out at night to climb to this wonderful point overlooking the city. We were very quiet with our worship as there were quite a few people still up there and the catholic church was having a service as well. We interceded and prayed for the ceasing of anger and distractions in the city, and we also spoke out in faith that the city would grow to be a city captivated by God’s love. I really felt God’s presence up in the mount and just a peace of assurance that I was suppose to be there speaking out these words and the impact it is making and going to continue to make towards the bustling city. A great day to end the night with prayer and intercession and a great feeling of peace and joy over the closer revelation of God’s glory and kingdom over this city!
After a great historical night where we spoke out in faith towards the city, we stayed our last full day in the base of chennai. The toll of leaving was already felt in our hearts as many sad faces began to appear on the staff and DTS students. Through out today, I was approached with many ‘threats’ of needing to come back and ‘confirmations’ that I was called here haha I could really see that the both of us will be missed much.
And as we promised, we finished the remainder of the office work that was assigned for us to design these logos for future events 5-10 years forward; so they say continuly that it will be hard to forget us. (:
That night, I got the chance to head back to see the first wonderful family that I met in chennai when I first arrived! Memories started flashing back as I conveniently met this man on the train to chennai who would live so close to the base and brought me to his house and brought me on his bike to the base on my very first day! I had to visit him and say my regards before leaving. (: so we had dinner at his house were he stuffed us with the best food and later showing his coastguard pictures and finally letting is pray for and bless his family though they were not Christians. I will surely not forget this family and their wonderful hospitality towards me.
Please continue praying for our travels as we are planning to head off the Hyderabad tomorrow which I am so so excited about!! Please pray for the ticket availability and for the trip there to be guided by the Holy Spirit and His angels to protect us from any harm. Also pray for tomorrow morning as we have been invited to play some basketball with some youth and pray that we will also praise God through our strength and sportsmanship!! God is AWESOME! So much more to come!! AHHH!
Much love from India!
On Sunday night we ran a church service with about 20 other ywamers. Martin and I were in the praise and worship band and had a great night with games, testimonies and a good sermon. With fellowship at the end sharing and meeting the other church members ..
Always good to partner with other followers in fellowship 🙂 when we came home we sat in the hall in a Skype call with a church in Denver (USA) who are also providing finances and prayer for the base here in chennai …
Martin got a call later that night changing our plans … We had planned to go to a village in Andra Pradesh for ministry but our host wont be there but was so blessed in God providing for both of us, from this guy providing for our travels to Hyderabad on Tuesday and our accommodation as well; where we will meet him the following week and serve at the village!
God is really providing and blessing us with great people and good opportunities to serve and encourage!
Please pray for the safety of our travels, against the anger of the Muslim activists and that it will die down so we may continue our mission of spreading the good news and God’s love!!

Much love from India!!
These are pictures that I just copied from online. ):
this is what I could have seen at st. Thomas mount today but from the riots from the muslim activists planning to do another ‘demonstration’ of their disagreement toward an American movie through attempts to riot against the US embassy, the YWAM leader at the chennai base called me and told us to come back while we were on our way there. ): sad day. We got stuck in the base but got to rest and recover and play some volleyball at night with the boys! (:
Please pray for more protection and some way that I could make it up there before I leave this place!!
Thank you guys for your prayers and support!
Much love from India!!
Praise the Lord for such a wonderful few days from the preparation of joyful events, to the ministries Nathan and I have gone to that brought out so much laughter!
For the past 2 days, we have been very very busy in the base teaching the YWAM beach DTS worship songs, skits, and games for their upcoming outreach! We have also been pulled into preparation for the upcoming events in the YWAM here through creating crafts and signs for the decorations, and contributing ideas for designs and activities. As my 2 weeks are coming to a close, it has really seemed more than a 2 weeks stay here, for all the memories and fun times with the staff and the DTS. Nathan and I also had the opportunity to do worship and intercession to pray over this city and join the base in that as well, as they have a great focus and drive for worship and intercession as well!
Today, we got up early for our final ministry in Chennai. The daycare ministry that worked with youth and young children both in their aim towards the healing of sexual abuse, that I have gone to earlier this week was the last ministry that we were going to be in.
We were greeted with shy hellos from the 2-4 year old kids but we soon warmed up to them and got to teach them many songs and games and find out that they really enjoyed just clapping! Haha
Though the main barrier was the lack of being able to communicate from the leaders of the ministry having broken english, everything went out just fine! (:
At the end, we got to pray for the kids before they were picked up by their parents and prayed that though they were all mostly Hindus, that the seeds sown in their lives now would take root and grow in their lives!
And right after the ministry with a blessed lunch by the leader of the ministry, we rushed back to the base to prepare for an event tonight for the birthday peeps of the month in the staff. Being appointed as the MC’s, Nathan and I quickly planned a few fun and messy games for the group and the night was filled with laughter and faces full of flour from one of the challenging games, bobbing for chocolates. Such a great, joy-filled, tiring day! Worth it to the fullest!! Thank you Jesus!!
Plead pray for us (especially Nathan) as recent news of riots in Chennai towards the US embassy from Muslim activists have restricted us to head to some parts in Chennai. This actually quite excites me for the enemy knows we’re here and that we’re making a difference in bringing God’s kingdom more of a reality here. But please pray for wisdom and discernment for the Holy Spirit’s leading as we will continue this journey with Jesus! Pray for strength and protection as well as we wait in silence for God only for He is our only refuge and salvation!
Much love from India!!
