INDIA182: Day 143 debrief. . .

A little detour to a nice quiet place + Varuna sangam: the shore that lifted my spirits.

Today’s bike journey consisted of many much more of traveling than I had expected. It was a simple deal which Narendra explained through pen and paper; which I’m starting to enjoy adventurously! And then I was off in search for these locations! Knowing a bit of the whereabouts that lie ahead.

The final full day in north Varanasi, with a final goal, on a final chance to pedal through near-death traffic. Fun fun fun! Seriously.

During the bicycle trip, because of a slight detour, I arrived in a place which I would never forget. The scenery was just amazing! And to take a quick breather, I set up my bike and sat down eating a banana.
It was not too long until an old man walked up to me and talked to me about the place i was looking for!

Varuna Sangam, the place to be. After a few more turns here and there. I have found you.
It was a quiet shore next to two interceding rivers, one of them being the Ganges river. A people were chatting and taking pictures; along with a few others flying kites.
I took in a deep breath at God’s beauty and majesty. I love how much joy that comes with His creation!
I silently thanked God for this place and then noticed a big tree with an old temple next to the shore. I was again reminded that this area was the root of many of the Hindu temples.

I quietly walked around the place, praying for breakthrough. And that God would bring His love to this place and for His presence to dwell and change more of this area towards His glory!

And from there, I got to watch the sun set. I got the satisfying peace in my heart and knew that I was done.

I took my time to head back and now packed and excited for what’s next! Jesus, let you’re voice and light be ever heard and visible in this place of Varanasi!

Prayer requests:
– strength and persistence for what’s to come!

– more of an understanding of how to trust God! May His will be done!

– and please continue praying for Varanasi as it is named the city of light, will once and for all, fulfill what God has called it to be!

Much love from India!!

INDIA182: Day 142 debrief. . .

Theme of today: bike 20k through traffic to railway station. And back.

My journey with Jesus yesterday was phenomenal! It was really good to see God’s silent power in the places I was in; slowly working in and around the area.

I had a slow start to the day. The rising excitement of moving to a new place plus the saddening thought of leaving all the friends I have made here for these 2 weeks came forth this morning.

I knew that I needed to order my ticket today. And since I was helping Narendra with some tech most of the morning, I had just a small amount of time till it would get dark here: 5-6pm.

Narendra gave me a quick sketch of the railroad station whereabouts, expected me to ask around for these famous areas or spots, and let me get to it on my bike! It was like a scavenger hunt with locations. Super exciting!

I headed off and dodged the blazing obstacles of cars, bikes, and buses while traveling a total of 10 km down and back! A new record for me! I don’t know if I ever rode a bike for a far. Haha it was an amazing experience with a bonus of exercise!

So my ticket is booked. I’m heading off to DehraDun the day after tomorrow. I didn’t die today by the grace of God and am excited to travel some more on my bike tomorrow!

Prayer requests:

-strength for tomorrow and the bike trip to another area of Varanasi for prayer and intercession!

-blankets and preparation for the jail ministry in this area to provide for the male convicts with warmth and love.

-a set and focused mind l finish this journey strong! I’m almost there!! Jesus is good!

Much love from India!!

INDIA182: Day 141 debrief. . .

So it’s that time of the journey, where you start having the feeling of your gears slowly unwinding, and you have a choice to let it which would lead you to slow your pace to a chuga chug? Or you could wound them up again a snug bit till the finish arrives. I don’t know if you could ever relate with that but that is the extent of what I could say I am feeling at the moment.

I guess being in a slow paced area where there is a scarcity of things that could happen, really makes a man think about where he is.

I woke up this morning with Jesus. Isn’t that a nice way to wake up?

He told me to cancel my plans and spend the day with Him. I adoringly said yes and accepted His offer to expand my horizon of who He is and who I am in Him. I started reading this book called the Divine Conspiracy. It’s been a mind boggling, deep enriching book which I have yet to finish.

The revelations were waves after waves which brought so much joy, I was laughing at the book and proclaiming praise the God out loud! Of course this brought a few confused looks from the people surrounding me but I was with Jesus and still am so what does it matter??

I took a small break for lunch when Jesus reminded me about the appointment I made with an Australian guy that was working at the base here. I thanked God for the reminder and took my bike for the stroll to the base. Everything was so magical and eye opening because of the revelations that I had just received early this morning! I was enjoying life to its fullest and brighter in my thoughts about this place!

When I arrived, I arrived right on time which surprised the Australian guy, Kym, who was just arriving as well! We had a small chat, as I interviewed him about the spiritual locations in the area and the history behind them. I was recommended by many to reach this guy and I surely was not disappointed!

Kym, gave me a great download of the history behind north Varansi and the myths behind that as well. The fact is that Varansi used to be predominately Buddhist. He then told me of the activities his team and other teams have been doing for this place since the 90s. This information really inspired me to have a greater picture of this city and the location of some of the roots of corruption that had been placed by the enemy.

After this nice, encouraging chat, Kym gave me a few more resources to keep for further use and I set off to one of the 2 locations for some Worship and Intercession!
One of the areas I was recommended to go to was quite a quiet place with a few people wandering about. It only took me about 10mins to arrive there from the base. I walked around and prayed for the place, releasing much more hope and love. While I was waking around, I also had the chance to pray for some people and talk to them. I found a structure of some kind, climbed up and did my worship and intercession! It was such a peaceful time, knowing that I was meant to be there and that the words said would take to the area. Jesus is good!!

And after a visit to a monastery and prayer waking around there, I sensed that my work was done there. And from there, I lazily took my time to ride back home.

After arriving back to my stay, I got to help Narendra with his newsletter and after, he continued saying,”it is such a blessing.”
The simplicity here still astounds me; being in India. But I can see that I am slowly sinking in it as well. And it’s not a bad thing. Not at all.

Prayer requests:

Strongholds to pray for in this area of N. Varanasi:
-anger
-drunkenness (not just alcohol; knowledge. . .etc.)
-lust

-marihuana is free if cost with a purchase of a drink or snacks.

-pray against deception in this area.

-people that come here often feel some sadness/apathy/hopelessness/ loneliness. Pray for a greater amount of hope and joy for this place!

-the name of Varanasi has a root meaning: city of light. May that be so again as God comes and continues to move in this place!

-a redemptive gift here in Varanasi is worship so feel free to pray for Varanasi in your worship time as I will be worshiping here as much as I can!

Thank you guys for your prayers!! These prayers are what change the city!!

Much love from India!!

INDIA182: Day 140 debrief. . .

20121208-185851.jpg

A discovery from discernment being my second day here: it is a very slow winding city.
I have discovered this while being in the base today and seeing how everyone worked. The people chatted and sat and chatted and sat.
There weren’t any ministries for me to do today but it didn’t stop me in helping out Ravi with some of the tech business. Through out the rest of the day, I got to chat with a few of the elders that have been at the base since the beginning and gave me more information on some specifics on the city.

I was astonished to see such a difference from the north to south. As I headed back, a greater understanding of the spiritual atmosphere here come about as what I have learned connected together! The root of these things are to be stopped in these places so that there may be a complete stop of all of the blind activities happening here.

When I reached back to Narendra’s house, Garima had already arrived and we got to chatting about her health and how Vivek was doing. Though out the rest of the afternoon, a couple of us just gathered and chatted about random things. And that’s that. Not much to report from the north side of Varanasi!

I got to meet amazing people and connected! Good enough for me for one day!

Prayer request:

-pray that God will ever guide me around this place so I can be ever used in this area!

-also please pray for my heart to be opened even more to the needs in this city and find the what to call out through knowing His heart for it!

Much love from India!!

INDIA182: Day 139 debrief. . .

20121206-204729.jpg

The day has come for my departure from south Varansi. It has truly been a wonderful experience in this place with these new found friends that I will truly miss and wanted to revisit!

For Garima, the bitter truth is her headache has gotten worse to vomiting and now she is in the hospital. Jesus help her!

Vivek having to look after her wife, ordered me an auto rickshaw to take the solo trip up to the location of north Varanasi! It was amazing to be out and about again.

I had a good talk with Narendra, whom happened to be Garima’s father, and also in the first DTS in India!! Crazy ancient wise man, this guy. Haha

And from meeting this kind humble man, he filled me in on the spiritual atmosphere and pressures of this area of N. Varanasi.

After lunch, he showed me the way to the base and brought me to connect with the widows place which is connected right next to the base. (: it was really touching to be able to see the widows and encourage them as much as I can.

Also, during that time, I got to connect with more of the staff and got to go to a near by village and help in some children ministry!

And to end the night, I was gifted with a bike to ride around in for my time here. That’s right, my riiiideeee. Haha

Prayer requests!!

-pray that God will show me more of His glory and heart in this area as I connect with more and more people of different shapes and sizes!

-pray for the children in the village I visited today to be graced by the love of God in their early foundations in learning and dreaming!

-and finally continue praying for the staff of the children ministry to be refreshed with energy and renewed with strength for what God has called them to do!

Much love from India!!
